Serser Software Inc. ("we", "us") operates MogSafe (the "App"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to delete it.
what we collect
- Selfie. The photo you take during setup so the app can suggest which face is yours in a photo. Stored in a private storage bucket tied to your account.
- Photos you check. Each photo you submit to see who gets mogged. Stored in a private storage bucket tied to your account, together with the comparison result.
- Face data derived from your selfie and photos. Face positions and comparison scores produced by the vision model we call to run a check. We do not run our own facial-recognition matching and do not build a biometric template of you; the selfie is only ever shown to the model again as an image, not converted into a stored face signature.
- Account info. Email address, or an Apple/Google account identifier, used to sign you in. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only what that provider shares (typically your email and a user identifier) and never your password.
- Usage data. Counts like how many free checks you've used, your subscription status, and app events such as opening the app, finishing sign-in and setup, starting and finishing a check (with the verdict and how many faces were found, never the photo), viewing history, seeing the paywall, and starting, restoring or failing a purchase. These events are tied to a random account ID, never your photos, face data, or email.
- Purchase data. Subscription status and purchase events from Apple/Google, handled through RevenueCat. We see entitlement status, not your payment details.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data if a crash-reporting key is configured. These carry the same random account ID and never include your photos, face data, or email.
- Notifications. If you turn them on, results and weekly recap reminders are scheduled on your device. They contain no scores, photos, or personal data.
what we never do
- We never log, screenshot, or export your photos, face data, or email outside of the private storage described above.
- We never use your photos to train any model, ours or anyone else's.
- We never sell your data.
- We do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
how a check works
When you set up the app, your selfie is sent once to a third-party AI vision model to check that it shows one clear face. When you submit a selfie and a photo, the photo (and, where needed, your selfie) is sent to a third-party AI vision model (see "Who we share data with") to compare the faces. The model's response is saved as your check result. The photo is then stored in our private bucket; it is not kept by us anywhere else.
who we share data with
- Supabase hosts our database and private photo/selfie storage, on servers in the United States.
- Our vision model provider (currently Anthropic, Google, or OpenAI depending on configuration) receives the selfie and photo for a single check and returns a comparison result. We do not control that provider's own data retention; we send only what's needed to run the check and never enable analytics add-ons for that traffic.
- RevenueCat manages subscription state with Apple/Google on our behalf.
- PostHog receives the usage events described above. Session replay records how the app's screens are used, with every image and every text field masked, so it never captures your selfie, your photos, or what you type.
- Sentry (or an equivalent crash-reporting tool), if configured, receives crash and error reports with no photos, face data, or email.
- Apple and Google process sign-in and subscription purchases directly; we never see your password or full payment details.
We do not share your data with anyone else, and never for advertising.
retention and deletion
- Your selfie is kept until you replace it, delete it (My face → Delete my face data), or delete your account. Deleting it removes the file from our storage; your past checks stay.
- Each photo you check is kept until you delete that check or delete your account. On the free plan, the app only shows checks from the last 7 days; older checks stay stored until you delete them or your account, and reappear if you upgrade to Pro.
- Deleting a check removes its photo from storage immediately.
- Deleting your account (Profile → Settings → Your account → Delete my account) removes your profile, every check, and every file in both private buckets for your account. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Usage and diagnostic events are retained according to our analytics and crash-reporting providers' standard retention windows and are not linked back to your photos or face data.
children
MogSafe is for people aged 16 or older (you confirm this before we scan your face). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
your choices
- You can delete any single check from your history at any time.
- You can delete your selfie (face data) at any time from My face, without deleting your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which erases the data described above.
- You can ask us what data we hold about you by contacting mogsafemain@gmail.com.
changes to this policy
We'll update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes, and update the "Last updated" date above.
